A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

The world is flooded with a deathly addictive substance. The arrival of a creature speaking a strange language disrupts the struggles of a king and his loyal follower. Will they discover the nature of the creature and their world?

Depiction of Pleasure is a fantasy adventure story about indulgence, language, and how we view ourselves. It contains partial nudity and no explicit material, but features mature themes. If it were rated, it would be PEGI-16. Out of abundance of caution, it's labeled as adult. It currently sits at 9k words which is about an hour read.

All 74 sprites, 24 backgrounds, the 30 special assets, the 8 CGs with 115 variations, are hand painted and recorded and available in the devlog.

Is this VN choice based or linear?

(+3)(-1)

It is mostly linear, there is one choice.

If you don't like, scroll. It's fine if it's not suited to your tastes, but don't be an ass about it for nothing.

I played the game after translation into Chinese, but my understanding of the story is not deep enough. Maybe in different cultural backgrounds, this story will have different connotations. Generally speaking, it is a very fantastic literary work. The illustrations are exquisite, the music and sound effects are also very good. The story is too literary, which is not easy for me to understand. Thank you for your efforts and sincerely hope that you can make better games!

I'm a player from China and I'd like to share some thoughts in chinese.I will make a summary(in Chinese language) and try to make other Chinese players know more about this game. Because game is a bit difficult for me to understand, but it is still a wonderful game for me to enjoy!

这是在我和朋友们的QQ(中国的一个社交软件)群聊中找到的。

Stellar, rich, dense, hilarious, beautiful. I am jaw-dropping-ly confused by both endings though. Neither of them made sense given what was written in the boxes.

Depiction of Pleasure is an ASTOUNDING work of art, and I absolutely adored playing through. Beautifully written, it's simultaneously charming, painful, and hilarious, and I'm going to be thinking over it for a long time. The characters were so wonderfully fleshed out, and the actual CGs and sprites are so gorgeous and expertly used! A superb work.

I loved this so much, the premise alone is bonkers and evocative as shit and then it just keeps going.

I do wish there was a little more breathing room especially in the second half, but I loved that stuff wasn't really explained just left for us to figure out

what the h*ck. a combination of beautiful, fucked up, surreal, disgusting, transformative. this is the kind of thing i could only dream of experiencing in my lifetime. it's expanded me a little bit more. i cannot thank you two enough.

Now that was an interesting way to tell a story

I love everything about this. I love how unapologetically weird and horny it is. Love the characters, the humor, the world. It's evangelion meets my likes on twitter ( when I had a twitter ) and I live for it.  I didn't know I needed this but now I cant help but crave for more. Stellar experience!

Just got done reading this.

I. Love this. I love the way it plays with being a VN in such beautiful and funny ways. I could gush for hours about this VN. I love the world despite the horrifyng sand everywhere.

I dont even want to spoil anything incase somone reads this before playing but, oooh, I feel like I have to talk about some of the end so be warned about reading the rest of this.

The bad ending is so tragic and how its shown is soo good and amplifies The Big Cute Bat(cause im terrible with remembering names) as a character.

The other ending is both silly and what I think has a hopefull future despite it ending on a cliffhanger that makes me sooo curious and wanting more. Theres so many other questions I have too about the green stuff the owl showed cham what other kind of relics exist out there. What other kind of things this world has. Its just inspiring and I'm excited to see what you do next!

Is the promised July 1st version out already? If not, when will it be?

Got a little hiccup but it should be out by tomorrow latest!

Nice!

There are two types of "what the hell happened" in a story, the one that doesn't make sense, and the one where I think I am the one at fault for not understanding. This is the latter, as I really love what you made here and I know there is something I far beyond what my mind went to. I look foward to the final version, I want to understand it all!

We’ve made a MAY WOLF ‘25 #FurryVN Jam Superlative Form on Google Forms are posting it to everyone’s itch.io pages now.

Voting for the Superlatives ends when the clock strikes July 5’th in New York: https://forms.gle/URongEfqz4swkdFo8

Please contact us or Unagi if there’s an error.

This is an absolutely wild and unhinged ride that manages to pack a ludicrous amount of well-considered ideas, gripping visuals, and brilliant comedic timing into a tight, fast-paced hour of IntrigueThrillThrillGlory.

I cannot wait to see what you’ve got in store for the polished-up final cut and whatever you end up working on in the future.

AH this means the world coming from you!!! Thank you so much for checking out our game. Big fan of your work as well.

Heads up. The hyperlink that's supposed to lead to A Role to Play leads to Echo

Thanks for the catch! It's fixed.

Mwah mwah, your art is gorgeous as always, and there’s an intense and very appreciated level of effort in depicting things visually in this VN. The setting is interesting, and I would’ve loved to learn more about it than what could be explored in a jam entry.

On that note, the scope of the story also seems to have been far too ambitious for the limitations of the jam. There’s good exploration and built up intrigue of things such as the lord’s relationship with Cam, the mechanics of the owl’s whole shtick, and both Cam’s and the wolf’s addictions. But for that screen time, seemingly important things like the other monks of the castle, the owl, and the workings of the apocalyptic scenario falls to the wayside.

The crunch in both real development time and in-universe time (It takes place in about 4 or 5 days I think?) made the latter half of the story rather dissonant. I find the climax to be weightless and lacking in cohesion with the narrative that was built up thus far, which is a shame because the prose and execution of a lot of individual scenes can be thrilling. The connective tissue just isn’t sturdy enough to bring it all together.

Thank you so much for the insight as always iegs! You have no idea how useful they are! Will be taking this into consideration for the final edits.
